You can improve your life in as little as 5 minutes a day

improve your life

Are you trying to improve your life? Do you want to increase productivity, improve time management, experience personal growth, or work toward specific life goals?

The first step to personal development is setting yourself up for success. What do I mean by that?

Create a morning routine

Think about how you start your day. Is it by hitting snooze 3 or 4 times? Or do you have a purposeful routine?

If your answer is the snooze button, don’t feel bad, but having a purposeful morning routine that is focused on your own personal development and life goals will allow you to increase productivity and grow into your best self.

Stay with me on this. Yes, I know you have responsibilities to get to: kids, lunches, getting ready, maybe even a workout, but what about YOU and your life goals?

Dreams and life goals are great to have, but they just become wishes if you don’t take action. Carving out early morning time for yourself is a sure way to set yourself up for success, create peace within, and build a life you love.

For the past 18 years, I’ve begun each day at 5:30am with meditation, prayer, and reading. It centers me and aligns me to who I am and who I want to be. On most days, I give myself 60 minutes, but there are days where I just don’t have that kind of time. So, I’ve created a 5-10 minute version that still keeps me centered and focused. Go to emergepositive.com to get the free digital download on EP Mornings. It has a 60 minute, 30 minute, and 10 minute guideline you can use to create your own morning routine.

Focus on time management

Making this routine fit into your schedule — no matter what’s on your plate for the day — is just another form of time management. If you want to improve your life, time management (or your “nonnegotiables”) will need to be a part of it. Meaning, you have to stake out your personal growth/’Me time’ and guard it! Even if you just start with 5 minutes in the morning, it’s better than nothing. So don’t stress about time, but be intentional.

Be unique….don’t be like everyone else and just let life toss you from day to day. Create a routine. Create purpose. Create life goals and go after them!
